Hey! My name is Stephanie and I’m an exploration geologist, graduate research student (MSc) in earth science, and a keen traveler of the world.
Being an avid Discovery and National Geographic fan (*cough* nerd *cough*) I love to investigate and explore the natural (earth) science behind amazing places. I hope to share not only my experience as an exploration geologist looking for gold and other metals, but also my travels around the world, whether for fun or work, and reveal the un-commonly publicized background science about these places.
I also highlight photography and occasionally link my travels with a popular movie’s filming location… just of the fun of it!
More About Myself:
-From Canada and love adventure, inspiration, and a great story (probably what sparked the vast majority of my life choices…)
-Studied Earth and Ocean Science at university and hold a Bachelor of Science with distinctions
-Currently a university research based graduate student doing a Masters of Science
-Worked as a Geologist for mineral exploration and mining companies, searching for copper and gold
-Worked within various films in the movie industry (fueled by my love for movies, especially science fiction and fantasy)
About The “Science”:
I focus my posts on my expertise of earth science, specifically geology, and geomorphology (how the land was formed, rocks, etc.). However, I occasionally write about other natural sciences as well (astronomy, ecology, etc.)
